One for connection to the ADSL modem which is your external connection, and one for your internal network that connects to a small hub/switch. For the external connection they should have supplied details on the IP addressing, one will be your public IP which you can place on the external connection, the other may be for the modem and this would be your external gateway. If your not sure about your ADSL setup, I suggest getting in contact with Tech support from the supplier. The internal address should conform to a standard which is defined in RFC 1918 (Request for Comment). Basically there are three IP network addresses reserved for private networks. The addresses are 10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, and 192.168.0.0/16. They can be used by anyone setting up internal IP networks, such as a lab or home LAN behind a NAT or proxy server (incl ISA server) or a router.
