Try looking at all the network connections on say an XP clean box. Then setup a dialup connection to say what ever manually not using any installation software. Then look at your connections again. Then install AOL. Then look at all the network connections. You will see several changes, including to your existing manual dialup connection. I have found that yes AOL 8 does work properly when the Windows XP Pro client is not running through the ISA server. In the process of troubleshooting I have discovered that the firewall client is required to sign into AOL but that after signing in if you disable the firewall client then the features that were not available are now available and the rest of AOL works too. So I have a work around for now but I would really like to find a better solution than having the user enable and disable the firewall client. The features that don't work with the firewall client enabled are: internet, buddy list, and address book I still don't know why the firewall client is preventing these things or how to fix it. Any ideas for me? thanks, Amy ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: amy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: johnlist@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
