ANother problem FTP

Hy again!
I have a problem with FTP. I want to reach an ftp server on a port
different than 21 (eg. 9999). I have set up ip packet filters and tried to
connect. I can connect, enter name and password, I get in but then I cannot
get a dir list. I have tried with different FTP clients BulletProof stops
at this:
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
And nothing happens after. If I let all ip traffic go though I don't have
this problem. Am I doing something the wrong way? I went though the
learning zone but I couldn't find a solution.
