Dear All, PJ Hogan and Nathlie Wood have finished training four clients in Guide Dog Mobility Training at the centre. They will be criss-crossing the country over the next 3 weeks for aftercare visits with these clients. Neil Ashworth began his aftercare this week with two clients on Guide Dog Mobility Training class. Cliona O' Rourke and Martin Falvey, Assistance Dog Instructors, will be training 5 parents of children with autism next week. Rehabilittion Worker, Megg Marchbank, will be training one client in an Orientation and Mobility Refresher Training course next week. IGDB would like to welcome a new member of staff called Stephanie Sherwood. She will be joining the Client Services Department next week as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor. Previously, Stephanie has worked for other Guide Dog and Assistance Dog schools. IGDB is holding an Information Day this Wednesday 21st June between 1pm and 5 pm.It's a great opporunity for prospective and current clients to find out more about IGDB's facilities and services. Light lunch and refreshments will be provided. The Today FM Ian Dempsey show was broadcast from the IGDB Training Centre last Friday between 7am and 9am. The Roy Keane Gift Grub song released last Christmas raised 20,000euro for IGDB. The cheque was presented to Padraig Mallon during the broadcast. Elaine Hattie, Communications Officer, left IGDB yesterday. We wish her all the best with her new job and for the future. Last but not least, it was great to see so many Guide Dog Owners at the Seeing Better Ireland exhibition at St. Joseph's School for the Blind last week.
