The Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of
Bioethics<http://www.bioethicsinstitute.org/> is proud to announce the
endowment of its directorship – now to be known as the Andreas C. Dracopoulos
Director – a transformational gift from the long-time Berman Institute
supporter for whom it is named. “It’s my hope this will spur both the
University and the Institute to take bioethics at Johns Hopkins to the next
level,"

The Berman Institute’s current and founding director, Prof. Ruth R.
Faden<http://www.bioethicsinstitute.org/people/ruth-faden-4>, will be named the
inaugural holder of the endowed directorship. The formal installation will
take place May 30, 2014. Johns Hopkins University recognizes the Dracopolous
Directorship as a contribution to Rising to the Challenge: The Campaign for
Johns Hopkins<https://rising.jhu.edu/>, an effort to raise $4.5 billion,
primarily to support students, faculty, and clinicians and interdisciplinary
solutions to some of humanity's most important problems.
