This is very sad news indeed for anyone who knew or had had anything to do with
Lisa.

Hello everyone,
If you have been reading emails on the womentalk list today, you will have
read the sad news which I refer to in the subject of this email.
I would like to thank Julie Sutherland for phoning me to tell me about this
before I read it on an email.
Our fellow NWB member, and committee member, Lisa Hayes passed away in
hospital today at 5:30am.
Lisa had not recovered from recent surgery and I had not been able to speak
with her since the day before her surgery.
For those who did not know Lisa, she lived in Sydney, and had been in
hospital off and on for much of the time in the past few years.
She had recently moved into new accommodation which had been selected to
meet her needs, and was very pleased with her new home.
I will miss chatting with Lisa on the phone, she often used to phone me with
ideas for our Women's Branch which she enthusiastically expanded on before
we talked about other things.
Our committee will miss her contributions to our committee meetings.
Lisa was a very generous person who donated many prizes for our NWB and BCA
raffles. She offered to be one of the hosts for our Monday chats and hosted
a chat in March from hospital where she was being wired up for a sleep study
that night.
Lisa loved acknowledging the birthdays of our NWB members, and was always
thinking of others and how they might be feeling when life may not be
spanning out so well for them.
She loved reading, and was in several book clubs and had offered to host one
of our NWB book clubs this year.
Lisa also participated in several VA Telelinks and I know Barb and
participants will miss Lisa on their book club and All About Braille
telelinks.
I'm hoping that somebody from Sydney will be able to put up funeral
arrangements on our womentalk list, our NWB will be sending flowers.
May Lisa rest in peace.
We will miss you Lisa, your enthusiasm and courageous spirit will live on in
our hearts.
