I thought it might be of interest. 3 years ago I assisted in organizing 2
forum presentations for those with vision impairment at Marion & Onkaparinga
Council. I found this to be very worthwhile & took SAPOL up on their offer
to assess my home & make recommendations as to personal & property security.

SAPOL Home Assist Program - for eligible service users
The South Australian Police SAPOL Home Assist Program is a Commonwealth and
State funded program aimed at improving home security and personal safety to
eligible people 65 years and over; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
people (50 years and over) and under 65 years living with a disability, or
carers of people with a disability.
The Home Assist Program can provide a number of services including;
. A free home security audit. A police officer will come and
visit the client and conduct a free security audit of their home. The
client is provided with a written document highlighting safety and security
issues that could be improved.
. Educational presentations to groups of 15 or more on topics
including home and personal safety and safety for resident in an aged care
facility.
. Educational presentations to service providers on safety in the
clients home.
