Subject: [infotech] Infotech for January is ready

Hi

Infotech for January 2006 can now be downloaded from our web site at
www.tandt-consultancy.com/infotech.html

Cassettes and CD's will be sent out later this week.

The first Infotech magazine for 2006 contains two in depth features.

While many portable media devices such as the iRiver h300 series are to some
extent usable by visually impaired people, an Open Source software package
called Rockbox installed onto such players gives blind people the ability to
manage folders and to move through menu items on a variety of devices. We
demonstrate Rockbox on the iRiver H340, and talk about the easiest ways to
install it.

GPS navigation offers immense opportunities for visually impaired
individuals by providing information concerning street names and points of
interest, meaning
that users can listen to how a route is planned or to receive messages while
travelling. We talk about a range of mainstream and specialist solutions
which
are currently available.
