The White House will be hosting state-specific calls to discuss the American Jobs Act and the Fiscal Year 2012 budget on October 12th, 13th and 14th. As people with disabilities remain unemployed at a disproportionately higher rate than those without disabilities, our community must ensure that elected officials hear our concerns.

Hereâ??s some concerns we have:
? Lasst year, on the 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Act, the President promised the American people he would hire 100,000 additional federal employees with disabilities. What is the administrationâ??s progress on fulfilling this commitment?
? In 2010, 27.9% of people with disabilities were living below the poverty line, compared to 12.5% of people without disabilities. What specific measures will the administration take to put more people with disabilities back to work and put more money in the pockets of all working Americans?
