        Dear Friends,

Recently I have had the pleasure of meeting Liz Ricketts, a young woman who is a image/fashion consultant. She expressed to me an interest in working with people who are vision-impaired, and I told her I thought there was a great need for what she had to offer. As an actor, I know how different styles of clothing have the power of conveying character and do , in fact, make you feel and move in different ways. I have always wished I had someone I could consult with to help me choose clothing that not only looked well but also suited my personality. Of course, I have friends who are willing to shop with me, but that is not the same as working with a professional who not only has a working knowledge of the range of fashions out there, and knows how to match styles and color to personality and body type, but also knows where to shop for the best deals.

I'm forwarding this announcement because I believe there are other individuals out there who feel as I do and would want to take advantage of Elizabeth's talents as I have. She is a fashion/image consultant and personal shopper all rolled into one. She is honest and caring and personable.

Please feel free to share this announcement with anyone you think might be interested, or forward to other list-serves you may belong to. Contact Elizabeth directly with any questions. Her email address and phone number are given at the end of the announcement.

Thank you.

George Ashiotis

Hello!
My name is Liz Ricketts and I would greatly appreciate a moment of your time.

I recently graduated from fashion design school in the Midwest and have moved to NYC to start my "professional life". I have worked in NYC and London throughout the last 5 years as a celebrity and editorial stylist, designer, consultant and vintage dealer. While I am still doing these jobs I would really like to explore a new idea. My work has always focused on individual image and style as a way of communicating one's thoughts. Unfortunately I find that many people dress according to what they see outside themselves and not what they think. Trends and advertisement have obliterated individuality.

Recently I was introduced to George Ashiotis and in speaking with him and others I understood there is a need for an image consultant for people with a vision impairment. This excites me because it promotes the idea of style and look being a product of personality and individual comfort level versus the fad of the month.

I would like to work with blind and low vision people as a stylist and image consultant. It would be an amazing opportunity for me , as well as a client, to explore what fashion could be. I am qualified to work with both men and women in this capacity. Here are three possible ways I can be of help:

1. Image consultation-- A preliminary meeting to discuss what you need, and could include, hair, makeup and style assistance. 2. Organization and shopping assistance -- I can bring clothing to your home or take you to the stores. 3. Special event planning -- I work for a company that rents very high end clothing at affordable prices, and would love to help you prepare for any special occasion, date, or help you create an occasion.

My fee is 15 dollars an hour or 125 dollars a day. I realize that things are economically tight for us all, and I can be somewhat flexible with regard to my fee. I am not into this for the money, but I do need to make enough to make ends meet.

The bottom line is to make you feel confident and embody whatever vision you have for yourself. I am open to any other ways my area of expertise may be put to use and would be happy to answer any questions you have. This is a new adventure for me, and one I am very passionate about.

      Liz Ricketts
