AND FROM THE "WGBH DOES THAT TOO?" FILE...

The Media Access Group and its MoPix efforts are just one piece of a very large puzzle here at Boston public broadcaster WGBH. Your MoPix team will take the liberty of sharing other pieces of that puzzle every once in a while, to expose the MoPix masses to yet more good things related to accessible media. Across the transom this week came word of a brand new video clips (to be shown on PBS stations nationwide) and a Web site which seek to bring poetry into our everyday lives. And, of course, the poetry captured in video-- read by poets, by actors or cleverly illustrated with animation, is captioned. Here now is the link to Poetry Everywhere, a joint project of WGBH and David Grubin Productions in association with the Poetry Foundation. Major funding was provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. Enjoy.

* WGBH has developed a conversion process to enable select Paramount and DreamWorks films to be available via Rear Window Captioning systems. Some of these titles will also be available with descriptions. The latter will be designated "description" vs. DVS in our Updates to indicate availability of that feature, though WGBH did not create those descriptions.
