[Ilugc] root passwd

Hi
i forgot root passwd in my gnu/linux based RH. is it possible to reset the
root passwd? if yes, how can i do so? Thanks in advance.
boot into your system by typing
#linux 1
at the boot prompt
you will be landing at the root prompt.
#passwd -d root
now give
init <runlevel>
