[Ilugc] reg GNU Pronounciation

hi,

i visited gnu.org. it was given that GNU is pronounced as guh-noo. i want to 
know whether the  'g' is pronounced as 'g' in the word 'good' or 'g' in the 
word 'general'. this might be a silly question but anyway i had that nagging 
doubt so i am asking it.
