You can use the URL rewriting in apache using something like this
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule????^/mail ^/cgi-bin/openwebmail/openwebmail.pl 
RewriteRule????^/mail/$?^/cgi-bin/openwebmail [R]

... Disregard the other mail.
