[Ilugc] chennailug.org is not functioning properly.

'trac' is a very good suggestion. Trac combines wiki's with roadmaps
for code development. It uses standard version control systems.
As far as I know it allows one to have different VCS's like git,
mercurial and darcs in addition to the default svn.

few reasons why we should not use trac for chennailug.org
1. trac cannot be used because trac is meant for Project management and
bug/issue tracking. whereas mediawiki is meant for creating collaborative
content websites. earlier ilugc members used our mediawiki for various
purposes like CD's for Grab etc.
2. our aim in maintaining wiki is to enable all of us to access and
collaborate the events and happenings in ilugc. hence wiki is the suitable
one.
3. we are not going to develop anything using ilugc website. hence trac is
not needed.
regarding control panel sh$t....
majority of hosting business is going because of that sh$t which you cannot
disagree.
regarding your 3 yrs and no spam trac code,
how many people access it per day, per week, per month? spam occurs where
there are lots of people. chennailug.org is being affected because 2k+
people have registered with site.

yes i know the issue. mailing list and drupal integration should be done. i
will look for it.

1. if i am asking for control panel access rather than ssh, you should think
why i am asking for that. there were issues for which ssh wont be the right
think. a table in ilugc db consumed 3 GB of data for which if i do select
query it wont display properly. my aim is to not learn ssh or mysql. for me
data is important and my aim is to fix the site ASAP. hence i was looking
for control panel access.
2. thanks for your suggestions on spam extn/plugins. i will try to use it.
