[Ilugc] What to download from the net???

Arun Antony wanted us to know:

hi everybody,

     i'm haven't really downloaded any distrbutions
from the net, have only written from others. if i have
to download any distros from the net i'm thrown with
an option ISO images or just i586 versions. which one
should i download to be burnt on a cd? Which version
is a bootable version and how can i make the burnt cds
one??? plz clarify the way a linux distros can be
downloaded and burnt to cds also making them bootable
cd one.

Your best bet is to go with the ISO. That way you are sure not to miss
any files, and you could also check the MD5 checksum after downloading 
to verify it.
