As many of us would already know, Mozilla has the Common
Voice Project https://voice.mozilla.org/en which aims to build
an open speech dataset for people to use.
Everyone is welcome to contribute anonymous voice data by
reading the lines provided or by validating existing data.
Recently Mozilla opened up the Common voice project for
languages other than English.
I remember contributing a few phrases in English as the intention was to
include various accents into their corpus.
I don't see any final decision on what data to use for training. Are
they waiting for a localized site? Contributing to Common Voice when the
site is up should be easy regardless of localization but we can attract
a diverse group by having a site in Tamil.
