First off, Emacs has more than one mail client, and they might behave
differently. So, let me just talk about Gnus - the one I use. Gnus
uses mailcap database to view mime attachments. So, if you have
cygwin installed you should be all set. Otherwise you might have to
settle for something less interesting - like saving the attach to
disk.
