[Ilugc] Perl Newbie

  try the perl man pages. they are simple enough to
start with and pretty comprehensive. you can do a lot
of stuff with that alone. Then to progress on from the
baby talk perl try and check out Joseph N Hall's
"Advanced Perl Programming". It gives you a lot of
idiomatic Perl so you can compactify your code and
make it pretty powerful. Anyway for starters try man
perl. Most of the stuff you want is there, and after
playing around for an hour you shold be on your way.
Another good book is the Little Black book of Perl.
That again tells you a lot abt. the language.
