has anyone tried this compaq presario 2517 laptop - that was
recently advertised in The Hindu - that comes with Linux
pre-installed?
Any issues that you guys have come across? With compatibility,
and usability of the machine as a whole
Assuming that you are asking about Linux compatibility
No major Issues whatsoever.
However You might face some problems in the power management side
I have a Compaq presario R3000 laptop with Fedora core-II. The main problem
is with the X-server which most of the time the whole system crashes hangs
when I switch form X to console mode or try to come out from X-windows. The
main problem is that I could not find any bad entries the log file as the
disk activity stops and I need to restart the system.
But it works fine with the live linux CDs of knoppix or SuSe.
Does anyone have solution for this.
