The optimum solution would be stackable switches cascaded thro' a backplane
or high speed backbone. This is available from many brands. Stackable
switches are more expensive than plain packages switches as normally they
are also SNMP capable. The other option is to take 4 x 16 port packaged
unmanaged switches and cascade the thro' normal ports. In this switching
within a switch will be at full speed but switches across switches will be
constrained by the switching request loads across switches will is capped at
100.

Hi there,
I would like to connect all 50 systems into single
network. All the 50 users works are involved in
local networks. All I want to know is which
[ Network Device (eg) Hub, Switch etc.,] one will
be the best to go to connect them into one
network where there will not be any collission.
One of my friend suggested to go for 24 bit
dataswitch which has 100mbps capacity. I don't
know exactly how far that is going to give the
solution for me.
Because already i am using 1 data switch with
8 port data switch which divides through hub(s)
for all the 50 computers.
If anything that gives finite solution kindly do
let me know. Your suggestions are almost welcome.
