[Ilugc] Mail server, Spam Problem

I have a sendmail mail server. and I have x.com .For fewsays I find in the
mail queue there are number of mails that are destined to unknown users in
x.com. and also lots of mail sent out. So I put Mail Scanner utility with
Spamassassin and ClamAV. It some how stopped some mails. But still there are
some mail for my unkonwn users.
How to stop these type of mails. How are the random user names generated for
my x.com. Is it a worm sitting in my mail server and generating all these
user names.
Is there any tweaks for Mail scanner, Spamassassin and ClamAV to safeguard my
server ?
Check whether it is open relay? If yes, close it and use access if you
don't have roaming users. SMTP Auth is other way to do this.
