Did you try opening up the mouse and cleaning the
ball and rollers? :)
No use cleaning the ball and rollers if the
buttons are gone.
there might be some life in the mouse still if you
poke around with a sharp
pin under the buttons and dig out tons of dirt you
never imagined existed :)
I did try that. managed to get some dirt out still the
buttons problem is not fixed.
Made a couple of calls to Ritchie Street and found out
that the IntelliMouse Explorer is never "in-stock" and
usually takes a couple of days if one needs it.
Gave up and got the Logitech Optical Mouse (plain
vanilla one).
I was just wondering if anyone have made those
additional buttons to work with linux.
It says they can be programmed to perform multiple
tasks like Back/Forward in Web Browsers. But it also
mentions Internet Explorer 5 and above in the System
Requirements.
I just dont want to plunk down 2000 bucks for a mouse
and end up with 4 additional buttons that just are of
no use in Linux.
Great for FPS shooters though.

Toufeeq
