well, the problem is solved. got the kernel
compiled.Googling a LOT on deja.com helped.many FC1
users have had this "kallsyms" problem.

how do i test if the new "custom" kernel is better
than the "packaged" one?

any utilities to test the new kernel for optimization
differences?

thnx,
toufeeq

I did the following:
1. make mrproper
2. make xconfig
3.make dep
4.make clean
5.make bzImage

Seems like the order is wrong.  `make clean` should
be
done before `make xconfig`.

I compiled the already existing kernel on my FC1
system.

any ideas what went wrong?

TIA,
Toufeeq
