My monitor "Samsung Samtron 55E" was detected as "Unknown monitor". I am 
really wondering why is it so. Even RedHat 7.3 installer detects it 
correctly. I found the same problem with RH9, FC1 and it continues in 
FC2 also. May be my monitor has become obsolette?!

XFree 4.x dropped support for a lot of "old" monitors. Unfortunately,
a lot of hardware that gets obsoleted in the west finds a new market
in India.

Although SELinux is there in Fedora, inorder to enable it, we have to 
say "selinux" at the boot prompt of the installer. Since I didn't read 
the documents related to SELinux, I didn't want to give a try to it.
SELinux was enabled by default in FC2test2, but it proved to be such a 
can of worms that they regressed in test3 and final. Which is just one
instance of the more general principle that security is a process, not
a product. One 6-month period is too short to make and test the system-
wide changes that SELinux requires.

Once installation completed, the system booted with Linux kernel 2.6 
another major change in Fedora's release. This time, they added a new 
command line 'quiet' in addition to the 'rhgb' to trim the kernel 
messages showed up.
Moving in the general direction of MS-Windows, I see :-) But I'm not
complaining about such changes as long as its not forced on you.

GNOME. The first application I tried in KDE was KIIIB to test my CD 
burner. As the writer was not under SCSI emulation, it was not detected 
by KIIIB. I tried rebooting with SCSI emulation for my CD burner with 
command line 'hdc=ide-scsi'. But still the writer is not under SCSI 
emulation. Since ide-scsi is deprecated for CD writing, I think Fedora 
decided to remove the ide-scsi module? I am not sure anyway.

compile the Mplayer source that I used under Debian Sarge. Hey, it 
worked fine! I played the Matrix 'all in one' DVD without any pain.

I got my nVidia nForce ethernet controller, nVidia nForce audio working 
properly by default. I tried installing the nVidia properiatry driver 
for X to get the best out of hardware acceleration for my nVidia GeForce 
2 IGP. But in vain! The installer didn't find any precompiled interface 
for the kernel of FC2. I compiled one and the install was sucessful. But 
when I started X, the system black out and I have to reboot to get out 
of this. There was no pain in configuring the driver for Debian Sarge 
runnign on kernel 2.6.4 with the same installer though. I suspect the 
reason that Xorg instead of XFree is creating some problem. Googling 
didn't gave me much. I have to sort this down soon.
I think nVidia will release the precompiled interface in a month or two.
I heard that Linus deliberately breaks binary compatibility to make it
more difficult for closed source drivers to exist. Strange, considering
that he has repeatedly professed his political apathy.

One thing I noticed during shutdown is that console mouse services 
shutdown suceeds unlike FC1.

Overall FC2 is a significant release in the Fedora's roadmap.
