There is a requirement for SlashSupport India Pvt.Ltd. The details are as
Position: Data Support Engineer
ÃÂ· Respond to Customer calls and emails utilizing customer Automated Call
Distribution system and electronic mail system.
ÃÂ· Open Cases within customer case tracking database, detailing Customer's
issues/questions and your associated response and actions.
ÃÂ· Resolve Customer product issues through research using appropriate user
guides, manuals, product release notes, troubleshooting guide, and other
Technical Support Engineers.
ÃÂ· Duplicate Customer product issue in the Customer Service Lab by
replicating the Customer product configuration across hardware and software.
ÃÂ· Visit Customer site when product issue can no longer be effectively
diagnosed remotely. Site visit could include capturing more information such
as; statistics, traces, dump files, configuration files, hardware revisions,
and software revisions.
Knowledge, Experience and Training requirements
ÃÂ· Requires the ability to debug hardware and software system level problems
in a multi-vendor and multi-protocol network environment. Practical experience
with ethernet, token ring, ATM, FDDI, IP, IPX and frame relay technologies.
Solid understanding of LAN/WAN protocols and topologies; for example, TCP/IP,
ATM, Frame Relay, X.25, PPP, ISDN, Ethernet, or Token Ring
ÃÂ· Experienced with UNIX (Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, Aix, etc.) and associated
software packages and common services used in unified messaging, Computer
Telephony Integration (CTI), and multimedia content delivery
ÃÂ· Experience with FTP, Telnet, TFTP, SNMP, SMTP, POP/IMAP, HTTP and other
common TCP/IP services
ÃÂ· Ability to use Microsoft Operating Systems and common software tools such
as HyperTerminal, office, etc.
ÃÂ· Understanding of internetworking conceptsÃ¢ÂÂincluding both t
ÃÂ· Solid understanding of PC hardware architecture is required. Customer
Switch Expert certification is required.
Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree
of Service Orientation and willingness to work according to US, Europe & APAC
timings. You will be required to work in shifts, on a 24 X 7 basis, as the
customers who require this support are overseas.
