Monitoring the internet connectivity status is little tricky. It depends on
the type of connection viz leased line or broadband etc., So i think using
modules like LSM (link status monitor) which is being used in linux based
firewall distros like Endian, Untangle etc is reliable than implementing
our own way of monitoring internet connection status.
