[Ilugc] GRUB - Installation

I tried with the hda5 it booted.  But if I restart the linux box it once again 
prompts grub>.  But I want it in GUI mode.  How to do it?

hi,
i am using debian,
i have downloaded a kernel source, and i compiled it, i did not 
get any errors while compiling, but when i restarted the  system, 
i am not able boot with new kernel, where as i am able to boot 
with old kernel.
i am not getting any error message. when i select the new kernel 
in the lilo, my system is rebooting.
