| Can I or can I not SELL (for a nonzero price), software (and not
| support/service over that), to a customer, along with sourcecode
| (basically opensource it), without fear that today's customer will

You make software:
#1: someone likes it and uses it (end of loop - so all that you gain
is the media cost and if you ask him to sign up for some sort of a
maintenance contract ;/)
#2: someone likes it but wants a new feature. they pay you and you
"sustain" your business using their money
#3: someone likes it but does not know how to install your
software. so you charge for the setup / support. its more like "if you
know how to set it up, do it yourself. if you dont know, i can do it
if you give me a cheque" (note that here, the someone is free to ask
his neighbour to set it up for him).
#4: someone thinks you write super cool code, so they ask you to write
something else (or you even get hired / do part-time work)

| Don't send me URLs, don't talk about philosophy, don't tell me it is
| not about the money. Just tell me, Yes, or No, and if Yes, give me the
| name of that company. I want to work for it, or better, emulate it (or
| even better, outsell her to extinction).
`----
I *never* understand why there is a URLophobia. A web page is referred
to because it contains a lot more information in detail than what the
person that refers it can type (or have the time to type).
