What driver are you using? Check /etc/X11/XF86config. If you are using VESA,
check if vesa supports such hi colors on hi resolutions.
I cant understand "thousands of colors": is the setting in your XF86config 16
bit or 24 bit. I have a similar hardware using VESA driver at 1024x768,
Does someone know of any binary driver modules for 845 chipset for RedHat
kernels? Something similar to what nVidia nForce driver rpms will be good.
