[Ilugc] Configuring Sound - Gentoo GNU/Linux

Hi All,

I havent been able to configure sound on my desktop. I am running 
"2.4.20-gentoo-r5"

When I execute "esd" it says "file '/dev/dsp' not found". What am I missing?

What is alsasound? Would it be of any help regarding this?
