I have tried Borland Kylix OE. A copy of Kylix Enterprise Edition with MySQL
could make a _nearest_ combo to VB/Oracle AFAIK.
BTW, Kylix EE is a commercial software. But Kylix Open Edition is free and
meant for creating open source gpl'd programs (am i right?) only. It is a
free download and lacks the easy ADO control like Database interactivity
(Enterprise edition has this functionality).
You need to know object pascal to work with kylix. The best part of this is
that, your program may also be cross platform compatible: the kylix source
code can be compiled as a windows exe using delphi.
