Python: General purpose programming
huh? Care to explain why you opine perl cannot be
used for general
purpose programming, while, apparently, python can ?
Readability also matters! Perl has its own
strengths. Please don't flame on it.
Don't blame the language because you can't write clean code. Perl gives
you the freedom to "optimise" for a variety of things -
1. run time speed, performance, memory usage
2. time spent in programming, lines of code
3. programming style - descriptive, concise, wizard only
It's upto the programmer to choose what to optimise for the task at
hand.
I should think about doing a "Programming Perl" talk one of these days
:-)
