things working now.(after changing fstab)
one more error:
when i compile my GCC programs,loader gives error of __gxx***
personality or something like that.first time that i m getting this
error after revcovering from the earlier conditon
but booting is normal
everything else fine,does it have sonmething to do with boot prob?

maps /dev/hda8 to / partition. You must change it to /dev/hda9.
