I've actually seen a debugger written in VB. So before you say VB is not
powerful, I would say "think again" Vb+Win32API+COM is a pretty powerful
combination.

I agree VB is simpler in terms of how its done and it probably has
lesser power than, say, perl/tk. But isn't it a bit unfair to rate
someone as 'non-geek' just because he/she writes VB code
? I know lots
of non-geek, below-average perl programmers and some "good" VB
programmers.
IMHO, Its their involvement and approach that decides whether someone
is a geek. Not what tools they use.
