Hi all,
I have a 815EG Intel motherboard with onboard AC'97 audio controller. It
works perfectly on "windows" .
dmesg tells me ( redhat 7.2 / mandrake 8.2)
i810_audio:Audio Controller supports 6 channels
i810_audio:AC'97 codec 0 unable to map sorround DAC's (or DAC's not present)
, total channels = 2
i810_audio:drain_dac,dma timeout
Something peculiar also happens...when i load xmms with some mp3 it flashes
for 4 seconds and then stops. xmms "hangs"
Has anyone encountered this problem before ? Is there a workaround ?
Is this a problem associated with the hardware.
