Hi Mark,

Why do the Assembly house need .asc file???????

For Assembly purpose, you need the BOM and XY_placement file (which is
ASCII format) and also the gerbers file for your Pastemask layer for
making the Solder paste Utensil.

Nearest Allegro equivalent (content-wise) to PADS .asc file is the
IPC356 netlist.

CircuitCAM from aegis is Assembly program which prints outs Color codes
for assembly line and also generates assembly run programs for Fuji etc
assembly Machines. This software accepts gerbers or brd file or the .asc
file and BOM and XY_Placement file (if using gerbers otherwise the XY
data is embedded into the layout file).

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Power-PCB .asc assembly file

I have an assembly house asking for a Power-PCB .asc file.
(!PADS-POWERPCB-V4.0-BASIC! DESIGN DATABASE ASCII FILE 1.0)
Is there a way to get this information out of Allegro?
Script?
Conversion?
CAM program?
Thanks in advance,
