Greetings to All,

Any assembly house that has Valor Trilogy can read in ODB++. Fabmaster and Fuji
have the ability to read and convert an ODB++ file to their native file. In our
case we drive our PCB design from an Orcad CIS database file. The part number
is embedded in the schematic and passed along to the Allegro board. We provide
a BOM file which is an Excel spreadsheet that contains all our approved
vendors. Trilogy has the ability to link both these files together via the part
number so the assembly house has all the data they need quickly and easily.
Most of the big assembly houses like Flextronics, Pemstar, Jabil circuits,
Solectron, etc have the Valor Trilogy program. Since the new IPC standard
IPC-2581 database exchange format is based on the code Valor provided you can
bet that Valor is looking to achieve the same kind of success in the assembly
world as they did in board fabrication.

Best Regards,
Larry

Name me one (1) assembly house that accepts ODB++ data as input.
