Gary,

The have the following in my EVV file to increase the character length.
I assume this works for the padstack length as well.

set ALLEGRO_LONG_PACKAGE_NAME = 256

Mitch, Shirley,

I think I have defined the problem, now I just need a solution!

It appears that I have an eight character limit in naming padstacks, but
just since moving to 15.2. We have quite a few previously created
padstacks
that exceed eight characters in name length.

Anyone have a clue as to how I can tell the "Pad_Designer" editor to
allow
more than eight characters?

Thanks for the help!

-> Hey Mitch,
->
-> We have used dashes and underscores in package as well as

-> or the dash.
->
-> At first I copied/pasted a similar padstack file, renamed it,

-> edit it. It wouldn't load with the "_mod", so I took off the "_mod",
it

-> it. All of this is taking place in an "unchecked" directory
-> where we create
-> and use the symbols/padstacks in a design. They are moved into
-> the "golden"
-> library directory only when tested in a populated functional PCB
-> assembly.
->
-> In this same "unchecked" directory, I can load a previously

-> (i.e. "r15x70") without the "_mod" just fine. It doesn't make

-> me. The only thing that has changed lately is I have moved from 15.1
to
-> 15.2.
