Ron, The most common error feedback from board vendors, is missing voids for vias of different net name. The void is clearly visible in the Allegro work space, but does not appear in the gerbers. The Valor output is OK. The second most common problem is plane shapes or borders that have angles under 20 degrees not generating correctly in RS-274X. The sharp angle becomes larger in the gerbers, often creating a short. With the advent of dynamic shapes, I use nothing but positive shapes. Can you please describe the problems you were having and how you discovered the problem(specificially inner layers)? However Allegro has problems with data integrity when generating RS-274X outputs that contain large positive planes. What you see is not what you get. Valor is not accepted everywhere, but is preferred where it is accepted. I have not yet seen any corruption of large positive planes, so for me it's a time saver. Never used it before. Is it worth using. I know quite a few people use it these days. What advantages does it give over RS-274X? Just starting to look around in the Valor Universal Free Viewer. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Mark ________________________________________________________________________ _____ Scanned by IBM Email Security Management Services powered by MessageLabs.
