They average between .1 mm (4 mil) up to 3 mm (118 mil), anything larger I look at using fill to make the connections. You do get a warning if the artwork accuracy is not one place higher than the data base. So you set up your database in Millimeters with an accuracy of 3, sometimes 4? So what are the typical trace widths you work with, .075, .100? Thanks again. Gary E. Has anyone set up a design in metric, and sent it out to Fab? Some questions: - Did you set the "User Units" to Millimeter or Microns? We use Millimeter - What did you set the "Accuracy" to? (maybe 3 for Millimeter, 0 for Microns?) 3 places on most designs, for designs with dense BGA's we use 4 (not sure why we just do) - How about the Artwork Parameters, "Output units" can only be set to Inches or Millimeters? 4 places in Millimeters. - Anything else about working and creating output in a Metric database I should know about? Nothing comes to mind, it does take a while to wrap your brain around it. I have started with the database set up in Microns in order to have whole number trace widths (75 and 100). If I switch to a Millimeter database, the trace widths become .075 and .100 (I guess I could handle the less than whole numbers). Anybody have any suggestions about this? Thanks for any help! Gary E.
