Hi Kesavan,

You have a daunting task ahead of you. I use both tools and my preference
is Expedition. However, I have been using Expedition far longer than
Allegro. I find Allegro requires a bit more âmanualâ intervention (could
be related to my experience level) to complete a design and Expedition is
a bit more âautomatedâ (again could be related to my experience level).
You can get the job done with either tool. Currently, I can work more
efficiently in Expedition. Your decision might be better based on cost
and/or familiarity if you have been using either tool.

Regarding costs, you need to be aware of how each tool breaks down into
their respective licenses. The trend over the last several years has been
to segregate functionality into separate sub-applications within the major
application tool sets creating an array of cost options. Life is
complicated.

As far as familiarity goes, I expect that if my time of experience with
both tools were reversed, I would prefer Allegro.

Regards,
Ed
