It is surrounded by fill (shapes) on two layers after making some jumps with 
vias...  it is frankly easier to reroute... but too bad that I have to.  This 
is a change to a board that already full of fill. 

It just seemed like such an obvious command...  I assumed I just missed it 
somewhere/somehow...  Sigh. 

Change > Net...  Select filter: cline, cline segs, vias.  Temp Group.  Select.  
Complete.  Assign net.  Done.

I can do that with a shape.  Select Shape or Void > net.  Done.  

Oh well, I can wish can't I?

why can you not disconnect the trace to either the pin or via or shape that
is causing it to be a gnd? It should be just a piece of cline with no
netname.
Cant you highlight the trace and see where it connects to?
