[PCB_FORUM] Re: ECSets using refdes mapping mode not updated when renumbering board

RefDes mapping can become an issue if there are multiple items in an
ECSet that are similar such as two resistors with the same value or
multiple IC pins with the same pinuse and (no) signal model. The latest
15.2 ISR (v15-2-51DD) has the ability to have the ECSets in a drawing
updated to reflect any refdes name changes. This feature is enabled by
setting the following environment variable:

    UPDATE_ECSET_REFDES

If you don't set this variable, ECSets will not be updated with any
refdes changes.

Hi Jerry are you using refdes mapping mode for your ECSets? Or
pinuse or pinuse and refdes? This is only a problem with the refdes
mapping mode for me. Which version are you using? I'm currently on
v15-2-51CE.

        Thanks for the reply.

        Chris,

I renumber all the time. No problems.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] ECSets using refdes mapping mode
not updated when renumbering board

Hi All. I was wondering if anyone has a solution for
this.

I have ECSets that use the refdes mapping mode. When
the components are auto renamed these ECSets will no longer map since
the refdes have all changed. Is there no way to sync up the ECSets with
the refdes renumbering?

Seems like quite the oversight on Cadence's part (I
know, one of many :-))
