Hi Leonard, Whenever you see a message related to the ipc server process, there is something wrong with your path variable. I have to switch hard drives on my laptop in order to check mine, give me a few minutes and I will let you know what it should look like..... Andy ;-) PS: Everyone who is trying to install the w2k version, I have bad news. The zip file on the conference CD is corrupted (looks like a ftp in ascii mode caused it). Please contact me if you like the working w2k release and I will email it to you (~26MB attachment, so make sure your mailbox can handle it). I soon will post the program on sourcelink........ Greetings, Has any one installed the Dynamic Shape Property Manager that was presented by Andy at the Users Group? I am having a few problems with it on Win2000 The program tries to start but hangs at the splash screen with this message in the Allegro command line: Launching IPC Process //aus-filer01b/projects/DSBU-austin-eda/AustinPCBtools/pcb-lib/skill/shapemgr/shape_mgr.exe E- *Error* ipcBeginProcess: Cannot launch server 'cdsServIpc' I am thinking that I need a Windows 2000 specific install and the files I installed were for linux.... Here are the steps I did: 1. I copied the file misc/19_shapemgr_LINUX_RHE30[1].tar.gz to my Windows 2000 PC * BTW... the file misc/19_source-code.zip on the CD tells me it is an invalid zip file and I cannot extract it..... Andy could you perhaps upload this file to the Users Group file area? 1.1. Question: Is the file misc/19_shapemgr_LINUX_RHE30[1].tar.gz for Linux installations only? Will I need to do the compile for a Windows 2000 application? 2. The file wrap.bat referenced in the README.txt file was not on the CD. So am I missing soem needed files from the CD to do a Win2000 install? Do I just need to install the Tcl stuff and compile for Win2000? Any help is appreciated.... Thanks Andy for a cool program and all your labors with ICU, Leonard Toohey
