No, nothing called gs_init/ps, nor, indeed, anything ending in /ps. There must be the best part of 60 files, all types PoScript, whose names end in _ps, ie what presumably is meant to be gs_init/ps may well be there as gs_init_ps. Also a number of files whose names end in _upp, filetyped DOS, several filetyped XbitMapped whose names end in _xbm. Nothing in the entire directory ends in /xx or /xxx. The archive was decompressed with Sparkplug, which has never caused any kind of problem before... I just deleted GhostScript and then started again from the archive. Same problem.
