Hi Paul,
Yes, but I was really suggesting just to change it to see if it read
correctly, then changing back.

However, I just tried a test.
I have my input set to grade 2.
I added a new address with the last name Key.
I put a key in the comments field after hitting control+l to turn off
braille.
When I was done, I hit OK.
When I viewed the record, the key read in computer braille as it should.

I then tried the same thing in another field; and it read just fine too.
I put f dot 1 r, in the middle name field with "braille off" which should
have read as "fear" if it translated it; but it didn't. It read as f1r.

So, perhaps you could try again; or give some very detailed steps; which I
may have missed the first time around, to duplicate what you did exactly.

Best,
Richard

Yes, but it wouldn't be worth it to have to type everything in in computer
braille just so a key can read correctly<grin>.
Especially when I typed it in in computer braille in the first place.
It's like when it reads back, even though you typed it in in computer
braille, it translates it into grade two.
One would think it would just leave that field as computer braille.

Hi Paul,
I should have said input method, since it treats both input and reading the
same way, but yes,
it will make a difference in other places, but try changing it and see what
that key looks like
afterward.
From the main menu, pick 6, utilities and then 1 settings, and 1 again for
general settings.
I think it is the fourth item down you can have your input mode as grade 2
or computer braille.
Left arrow to computer braille and hit OK.
I'm guessing the key will read correctly then, but it is only a guess.

Good luck,
Richard
