Hello, all,

These 2 devices are so different in many ways that a direct comparison is not
truly realistic.

The Pack Mate has a Braille display; the PDA does not have one thus far.

The keyboard of the Pack Mate is more or less a Perkins-style keyboard; The PDA
keys are
much smaller and closer together and this makes them harder to use than the
Pack Mate.

The word processor in the Pack Mate is quite powerful and many of the "cord
commands are similar to the Braille
'n Speak system. The PDA uses a navigation system which is considerably
different

I believe that our little units are better in terms of accessing menus and
making changes to settings than
is true of the Pack Mate.

The Pack Mate is MUCH larger and heavier than our units.

We can play talking books and other book formats and I don't think the Pack
Mate can do these things.

If I had just one choice to make as to what unit I should buy, it would be the
PDA hands down!

Joe G.
