The microphone is that small hole on the front edge of the case approximately
under the pound key.

Hi,
I haven't run into any microphone problems, but to help prevent that;
exactly where is the microphone?
If it is stated in the manual, I haven't run into that information.

Thanks,
Richard

Hi Bill:

Did the microphone work prior to this incident? They are actually on the
opposite end. They are very easy to break.

Hi.
The other day as I was removing the Icon from its leather case the bottom
front lip opposite the battery compartment fell off. I snapped it back into
place...only now I can't seem to do any recording with the internal mike. I
have the Icon set to internal mike, and I have tried every setting from
automatic voice level to the highest level. All I get in the recordings is
a hiss.
I assume the internal microphone was hiding under that lip. How can I tell
if it's missing or broken or what? Thanks.
