Oops meant to send this to the list, Jennifer Sparks will get this twice cause i first sent it to her, forgetting to change the address back to the list again. I wish the list wasn't like that, if I wanted to reply privately, I would just forward the message to the specific person. ----- Original Message ----- From: Valiant8086 To: jenny@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, July 12, 2009 7:25 PM Subject: Re: [icon-discuss] lost sounds Hmm, could you include the orriginal post in your replies so we know what you're talking about? Making what I believe to be an accurate guess, I presume you're replying to someone who complained that their icon or braille plus's sound randomly stopps working after powering off, and then back on. Mine always seems to do it when I have the library open reading nls books. It's done it 3 or 4 times now, the last time when I shut it off, replaced the battery and had it back up and running again in about 8 seconds time. It vibrated when I turned it on just once, no sound. I pressed down arrow which should give a click, because that would say I was already at the slowest playback speed, 100 percent. Not so, pressing select to begin playback and there is no sound. Pressing up down volume while holding 0, nothing except a vibration when the sound reaches the recommended default volume thing. You have to restart to fix it, and doing so fixes it every time in my case. ----- Original Message ----- From: jennifer sparks To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, July 12, 2009 5:46 PM Subject: [icon-discuss] lost sounds Hi Sharon, If play sounds is checked in your menus, and you have just suddenly lost the sounds, try restarting your unit or taking the battery out for just a few seconds. This usually brings them back when it happens to me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --- avast! Antivirus: Inbound message clean.
